Sydney is often referred to as the gateway to Australia and this vibrant and beautiful city offers plenty to do and see for local or interstate travellers.

Food

Surry Hills is one of the local hot spots for dining out and there are plenty of  relaxed cafés and upmarket restaurants in this suburb. The Bourke Street Bakery is a popular local spot for Danish pastries. Restaurants like Red Lantern, Billy Kwong, Toko and Longrain are famous for their Asian cuisine and celebrity chefs. Head to Bentley Bar for Spanish and French food or Crown St for more dining options such as Korean, Greek, Indian and Japanese.

Beach

Bondi Beach is well known for its surf and sand but Manly is just a 30-minute ferry trip away from the city centre. Manly has the feel of a seaside resort and there are 10 beaches in the area to choose from. Stride down the promenade, visit the aquarium and explore the Spit-to-Manly walking track.

Sights and Sounds

Darling Harbour is great for families. With its fireworks nights, museums, restaurants and playgrounds, it will keep your children entertained. There is also the National Maritime Museum and the Powerhouse Museum for a bit of local history.
