Travelling to the Royal Easter Show in Sydney
One of Australia’s favourite festivals, the Sydney Royal Easter Show, will be held from April 5-18 in 2012. Taking place at Sydney Olympic Park and consisting of rides, agricultural exhibits, displays, show bags, food and all sorts of fun, this is easily one of the most family-friendly events of the year. No matter where you’re coming from, the following pointers will help your adventure to Sydney for the Show to be an easy one.
Getting there
Obviously you’ll need to get to Sydney first. From there, getting to the show is as easy as jumping on the bus or train, no matter where you are in the city. Sydney Olympic Park was designed to be easily accessible for the Olympics, which now benefits anyone heading to the Easter Show. Showlink tickets are available and can save you money on getting to the Show by bus, train or ferry. If you’re visiting Sydney for a few days, it may be worth hiring a car, both to get you to the Show and also around town to see the sights before you have to leave.

Chinese New Year Festival
January 20th through February 5th 2012 will once again see Chinatown put on a wild display of celebration in the form of the eagerly anticipated Chinese New Year Festival. Consisting of a series of musical performances, talks, educational presentations, delicious foods, dancing, art displays, cultural exhibits and a huge karaoke competition (to name just a few of the highlights), this is a festival well worth checking out. It goes for over two weeks and many of the events are free, so come and educate yourself on Chinese culture in Australia, and have a great time while you are at it!
Woolworths Carols in the Domain – Saturday 17th December 2011
Woolworths Carols in the Domain is Australia’s largest free Christmas concert. Every year tens of thousands of people come together to celebrate Christmas, while raising funds for The Salvation Army Oasis Youth Support Network.
The 29th Carols in the Domain will be held on 17th December 2011. This is a night of sitting under the stars (if it doesn’t rain) wrapped in your blanket with your picnic basket and listening to magnificent choirs, orchestras and guest artists.
